60 people arrested in a major operation against metal theft in Spain

60 people of Romanian and Spanish citizenships have been arrested in Valencia accused of stealing metal material from their workplace.

The Guardia Civil has arrested seventy persons in two operations in Madrid and Valencia, where 45 tonnes of copper cable and 120 of other metals have been seized, respectively. This has been the largest lot of stolen metal that has been confiscated in Spain.

In the operation “Cuprutel” carried out in Madrid, 10 persons have been arrested and other 8 persons have been accused for the 45 tonnes of metal theft.

According to the Guardia Civil, in the police investigation “Entera”, carried out in Valencia, almost 60 people with Romanian and Spanish citizenships, have been arrested for stealing 120 tonnes of metals from their workplaces.
