EUG3 Portugal

The third Pol-PRIMETT II EUG meeting was held on Tuesday 14th October 2014 at the Congress Centre, Lisbon, Portugal.

The meeting was attended by 108 delegates from 15 EU Member States.

Steve Welsh, Pol-PRIMETT II's Project Director from the National Crime Agency (NCA) opened the meeting alongside representatives from the Guarda Nacional Republicana who were hosting the event.

The delegates were attended two workshops in the morning on:

  • Workshop 1 - Collating and mapping data to create a picture of metal theft across Europe
  • Workshop 2 - Links to other crime types and identifying knowledge gaps

And another two in the afternoon which focused on:

  • Workshop 3 - Public-private collaboration
  • Workshop 4 – Law enforcement collaboration with judicial authorities

The meeting closed with an open forum on metal theft issues.
